Comments	I am 43 years old and have PE and have lived with it all of my like thinking I was the only one out their with this problem. Over the years I knew I was different but I never let it change my life or my behaviors. I have worked out most of my life and am concious of my body and know I will never have a great chest but I'll never look like Arnold neither so it's just how God designed me. So anyone out their wandering if you can live with this....YES you can, don't let something like this stop you from living!! Email me if you have questions.

Comments	Hi, I would like to hear from any females with pectus excavatum who have been pregnant. I am 30 years old and inherited my sunken chest from my dad. I am planning a child and wondering if there is going to enough room in my torso for baby and organs!
Does your pectus deformity affect you psychologically?	Yes, I am conscious of it. However I am very fortunate that my breasts hide it. I would like a round chest like other women, however I do not let this stop me doing the things I want to do. Give up the beach - never!
Does your pectus deformity affect you physically?	I have always been very active and enjoyed sports. Even though my lung capacity is way below 'normal', I have happily competed in triathalons and the like.

Comments	I've passed into the 30s now and have had PE since early childhood. I'd like to honour all the people who stands up (with their PE) and tells their story. Especially the ones that give PE a face and say they will not have surgery - accept me the way I am. Thanks. And to you who struggle with your appearance - try to fix it, surgically (which even may be needed for physical reasons) or mentally. Don't forget that you primary are persons, not PE-victims.
Does your pectus deformity affect you psychologically?	Yes. I don't take my shirt of in public and hesitate to become intimate.
Does your pectus deformity affect you physically?	I suspect I've got less lung capacity than normal. Some chest pains have occured. However I don't consider it a problem.
What do you think of this website?	Important. That's the reason for posting this aswell. I think it's strange that some say that up to as many as 1 out of 500 has got PE, because I've never seen a single one. That says something about how 'hidden' this problem is. I've got a negative self-image due to the fact that my disfigurement was the sole reason why I was picked upon in school. I've been very aware of other peoples chests to check for similarities; never saw PE. 3 yrs ago I searched the internet for it, found the real name for the condition and experienced hundreds of other people affected. All around the world. You see, all my life I've been dreaming of having surgery. I still haven't though. The doctors here tend to minimalize the effect of PE, subsequently not endorcing surgery. They might be right for all I know. BUT: having spent a hundred hours reading about PE and affected people, have made it much less of a psychological problem. I'm coping better with it now. Thanks to sites such as this one. I just noticed that many of the old ones are gone (like the huge one on hypermart) so that makes this site really important. And it's important that people with PE/PC post a message, if not for anything else than letting people know that they are not alone. Thanks.

Comments	Good site. Very informative. I am 16 years old and have mild 'pigeon chest'.I am now considering surgery after living with it for too long. I don't get any hassle for it but I don't like the way I look or feel.
Does your pectus deformity affect you psychologically?	It became more visible at around 13 years of age but is not a severe case. However, I am incredibly self-conscious because of it and find it hard to concentrate on anything, especially sporting activities. It can often cause deep depression.
Does your pectus deformity affect you physically?	Not at all- I have asthma but it is only very mild and I feel it is unrelated.
What do you think of this website?	Excellent- I hope pectus becomes more recognised becuase it can affect a person deeply.

Comments	i am 19 and my pertrusion is pretty damn big, i think its pretty wierd but its just the way i am and i've accepted it, it is the only way to live. it started when i was about 10 or 12, before then everthing was normal
Does your pectus deformity affect you psychologically?	i am somewhat self concious about it but i try not to let it affect my life. i have had quite a few girlfriends and they haven't seemed to mind. I usually avoid taking off my shirt in public but i will still go swimming and stuff in public, although i tend to avoid it. the beach kinda sux, i usually wear a shirt while im there but i grew up going a lot so i will take off my shirt and go in the water, people probably stare but i'm not about to sit inside in the dark all my life because i am different. in high school i pretty much showed it to everyone just for the hell of it so i wouldn't be worried about people stumbling across it. now that i am in college, i don't mention it to people, but its inevitable that anyone i get close to will see it so i have become comforatable when people ask me about it. I just tell em its the way i am. if they got a problem with that its too bad for them.
Does your pectus deformity affect you physically?	i dont think so. i am kind of scared that if i get hit there it could mean serious trouble so i try to avoid fights, but that doesnt always work. when i play football i am preoccupied with bracing for hits because i am scared that i will get slammed in the chest and that makes me a little timid of the field sometimes.
What do you think of this website?	this website is the first of its kind that i ever saw and i think its good. i never have heard much of anything about my condition and as i get older i am getting curious about it.

Does your pectus deformity affect you psychologically?	It's affected me all my life it's shaped the type of person i am today,I admit it does cause low esteme deppression etc and can have a real adverse affect on your life,But it also makes you more determined than other people to succeed
Does your pectus deformity affect you physically?	Maybe sometimes slight breathing problems, but overall nah, i do loads of fitness training and sports which help loads i try to do loads of endurance training which seem to improve the condition a lot more than upper body training
