Comments	i first took my daughter to her gp when she was 6 or 7 he told me if it doesn't hurt my daughter will be ok.she is now 12 and has just been seen by consultant thoracic surgeon who tells me she doesn't need surgery.her pigeon chest does not warrant the "ravitch repair".i wasn't aware of any other type of surgery and was never told about any.my daughter is a confident girl with lots of friends.
Does your pectus deformity affect you psychologically?	it doesn't stop her having fun ,swimming or beach sports and she comes to the gym with me.she doesn't like to change in communual changing rooms.she gets her sports wear on before we leave the house.

Comments	I am 16 years old and over the last couple of years my cheast has realy been getting me down about my self. Someone told me that stretching would make it better but it doesnt seem to be doing any thing. Does your pectus deformity affect you psychologically?	not massively, though I dont like to be seen without a t-shirt on and when im on holliday i constantly think people are staring at me, but i suppose that every one who has this does.
Does your pectus deformity affect you physically?	Im lucky in that it is not a massive deformaty and not many people who I know, know about it, however I rearly have my shirt off.

Comments	wow, i have never looked up my 'condition' on the internet untill now and im amazed and glad im not alone.
Does your pectus deformity affect you psychologically?	yes, since the age of about 15 i have had an eating disorder which im still recovering from at the age of 21. having a pigeon chest always made me feel like a freak. Im intrested in having an operation to fix it, would love to hear from anyone who has had it done and any other sufferers.
Does your pectus deformity affect you physically?	Not really, short of breath when i have a cold but nothing more serious.
